CrossTrade Shipping was established in 2008 with one purpose in mind — to provide a niche shipping agency model for bulk vessels calling the west coast India. Soon after its inception, due to its expertise services in the field and with the leadership of Mr. Peter Chikkala (32 years of shipping industry experience alone), the agency business started to excel in the dry bulk section.

CrossTrade Shipping's coherent-agency business structure makes its services look effortless without alarming the difficult tasks being taken place behind the curtain.

Within a span of 5 years, with the request of its principals, the company was compelled to move towards the breakbulk and tanker segment of the industry. In order to maintain its expertise nature of conducting work, the company decided to cater only to Gujarat ports alone. Any major decision & policies with regards to major and minor ports in Gujarat before implementation, CrossTrade Shipping executives are the first called upon in order to have an in-depth discussion and understanding from the stakeholders' point of view.

Handling between 300 to 500 port calls in and around the coast of Gujarat alone shows the immense trust embedded in the heart of the vessel owners & charterers from different parts of the world.

Our expertise

Ten years in, a brokerage was born.

On its completion of 10 years anniversary, the company established its brokerage department to fulfill the needs of the shippers and receivers it conducts business with. Though comparatively young, the company's brokerage business has become a focal point between the Cargo Traders and its international customers by providing them with quick brokerage solutions in arranging clean and fast charter contracts.

The firm places utmost importance in providing its charterers with strategic consultancy and detailed analysis of the road and ocean freight market and new effects which can take place due to new trends in commodities markets. A dedicated team analyses cargos entering and exiting the Indian coast — import, export or transshipment — providing statistics to commodity traders.
